Ilana Brito Pew Scholar

Brito named a Pew Biomedical Scholar

Congratulations to Meinig School Assistant Professor Ilana Brito, on being named by the Pew Charitable Trusts as one of 22 early-career researchers in the 2018 class of Pew Scholars in the biomedical sciences. The scholars receive four-year grants to advance their explorations of biological mechanisms underpinning human health and disease. Dr. Brito will use her award to look at how the use of antibiotics drives the emergence of multidrug-resistant microbes. Meinig School hosts M.Eng. Industry Engagement Day

On Monday, May 14, the Meinig School hosted the second-annual industry engagement day for its master of engineering (M.Eng.) students. The event, held in Weill Hall, featured fifteen guests from industry who shared their experiences with nearly 90 students (~64 M.Eng., 19 undergraduate) and learned more about the School’s biomedical engineering programs. Annual awards banquet honors Meinig School diversity champions

On Sunday, May 6, Cornell’s Diversity Programs in Engineering (DPE) recognized outstanding undergraduate and graduate students, student organizations, faculty and staff at its annual awards banquet.
