Alumni Spotlight: Brooke Mason, Ph.D. 2014

Brooke Mason

Brooke Mason completed her Ph.D. in 2014. Her research in the Reinhart-King Lab focused on angiogenesis, cellular mechanics, biomaterials and imaging.


After graduating, Mason joined Becton Dickinson (BD) as part of the Technology Leadership Development Program (TLDP). She completed her first TLDP rotation at BD Biosciences where she was the project manager for the development of a clinical flow cytometry product. Her role included concept and requirements generation, technical leadership of instrumentation development, and identification and management of multiple international design partners.


Mason’s second TLDP rotation is at the BD Innovation Hub. Located in Silicon Valley, her team is part of BD’s Corporate Technology & Innovation organization. She is focused on leading the identification and development of new opportunities aligned with BD growth strategies followed by establishing and leading cross-company teams to design and build sustainable healthcare solutions, leveraging exponential technologies while operating in a lean startup environment. Her work also includes collaboration with strategic marketing to define new areas for BD Innovation and leveraging the Silicon Valley entrepreneurial community for inspiration and partnership.
