Wang Lab post-doc and team selected for scale-up award
Congratulations to Xiaochu Ding, a post-doc in the (Yadong) Wang Lab, whose application was approved by the Scientific Advisory Committee to participate in the FUNDING FOR SCALE-UP & PROTOTYPING program and team. Ding and team were selected to receive up to $40,000 from Cornell’s College of Engineering. The project application, titled "Scale up the synthesis of a polymer essential for a protein therapy platform,” describes a method for controlled delivery of therapeutic proteins with short half-lives to extend and enhance the efficiency of these proteins in the body. This award recognizes the strengths of Xiaochu’s proposal and the unique technical skills and accomplishments already demonstrated by his research work.
The FUNDING FOR SCALE-UP & PROTOTYPING program awards support scale-up and prototyping activities to establish a potential basis for a subsequent proposal if additional funding is appropriate. Along with the financial benefits that accompany it, the award allows recipients to work one-on-one with members of a Scientific Advisory Committee to identify potential markets and build the business case for technology as well as prepare for subsequent investments to commercialize that technology. Awards were granted based on a review of the written technical proposal and its commercial potential.
