Hi!

My name is Raj Patel, M.Eng Class of 2014, I live in Boston MA with my Fiancee and our two dogs. Over the past few years I have worked at Medtronic as a Sr. R&D Engineer, but since have moved on to be the Sr Engineer at a 4 person start up called Follica.

Follica has a novel system for hair follicle regrowth and we are looking to begin Phase III of clinical trials, I have been tasked with the commercial design of our product and engaging with contract manufacturers to bring our device design from investigational approval to production ready, while ensuring scale up activities pass FDA muster!

Boston has been very good to me career-wise, and it helps to be a big Celtics fan!

I recently joined a startup affiliated with another Cornell alumni I went to school with. I am now working to head up program development for Curebase. Curebase is a leading provider of decentralized clinical research software and services. The Curebase platform enables any patient and any healthcare provider to be part of a clinical study, accelerating enrollment and enabling novel study designs with diverse populations. Curebase operates as a complete eClinical software platform, virtual research site, and full-service CRO. I love talking with alumni about their companies running clinical trials and how I might be able to help. Please reach out to me!

Being a part of the design and development team at Rheonix to build a COVID-19 testing assay from scratch in a few months has been the most exciting and satisfying thing I've done with my Biomedical Engineering degree! Truly appreciate every single experience during my time at Cornell!
