Schaffer paper noted as one of most cited in journal’s history

A paper by Meinig School Associate professor Chris Schaffer wrote a paper co-authored by André Brodeur, José F. García, and Eric Mazur that has been noted by the Optical Society of America journal Optics Letters as one of its most cited articles. The paper, “Micromachining bulk glass by use of femtosecond laser pulses with nanojoule energy,” was highlighted as the journal’s 34th most cited paper in the history of the journal.
Since 1977, Optics Letters (OL) has been advancing the science of optics and photonics by publishing high-quality papers rapidly. In celebration of the journal’s forty years, Optics Letters is publishing the 100 most cited papers of all time in 2017.
