Madhur Srivastava Receives Research Travel Grant
Congratulations to Madhur Srivastava, a Meinig School Ph.D. student who was chosen to receive a Research Travel Grant award from the Cornell Graduate School. The award provides travel funds for research degree students to conduct thesis/dissertation research.
Mr. Srivastava will use this award to visit Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC) to learn about clinical MRI process. At WCMC, Srivastava is collaborating with radiologist Dr. Ajay Gupta to improve the diagnosis from the MRI images of brain tumors and stroke. He will be applying the new wavelet denoising method he developed his adviser's lab -- the NIH-funded National Biomedical Center for Advanced ESR Technology (ACERT) -- to retrieve weak MRI signals necessary for early and accurate disease diagnosis. The research study will be conducted in clinical settings involving many patients.
