Professor Chris Schaffer Receives 2009 Biomedical Engineering Teaching Award

BME Assistant Professor Chris Schaffer has been awarded the 2009 Biomedical Engineering Teaching Award from the American Society for Engineering Education. The award, to be presented at the ASEE conference in Texas in June, is conferred by ASEE's Biomedical Engineering Division(BED) to recognize contributions to biomedical engineering education by faculty members with no more than five years of teaching experience.

Professor Schaffer's contributions to the education of students at Cornell University, innovative teaching techniques, journal articles, book chapters, and patents make him an outstanding faculty member. This award is one of the highest honors that educators in the biomedical engineering community can bestow upon a peer so early in his career.

Professor Schaffer will be honored at the annual BED awards ceremony and dinner at the ASEE Annual Conference in Austin, Texas.
