Professor Mike King Receives AACC Award

Professor Mike King's paper, P-Selectin-Coated Microtube for Enrichment of CD34+ Hematopoietic Stem and Progenitor Cells from Human Bone Marrow, was awarded the Outstanding Contribution for a Publication in the International Journal, Clinical Chemistry. The paper was co-authored by Dr. Srinivasa Narasipura.

The paper was selected by the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) Awards Committee as the paper in Clinical Chemistry that most significantly advanced clinical laboratory science and laboratory medicine in 2008. The award consists of a plaque and a $5,000 cash award presented at the AACC annual meeting in Chicago on July 20, 2009. This award is in recognition of both the innovative approach Mike's lab has taken as well as the excellent execution by the lab.
