Larry Bonassar and Adele Boskey Named as Fellows of AIMBE

Congratulations to Professor Larry Bonassar, Associate Chair of BME, and Dr. Adele Boskey, a field member of BME (Hospital for Special Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College), for their election as Fellows of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.

Larry was cited for his contributions in understanding cartilage as a biomaterial, its function and repair, and engineering of cartilaginous tissues with clinical viability.

Adele was cited for her contributions to our understanding of the mechanisms regulating biological calcification and the role of the mineral phase in determining bone quality in health and disease.

Election as a Fellow is significant recognition of their outstanding contributions to Medical and Biological Engineering. Fellows represent the top 2% of the bioengineers in the United States.
