Purpose
Provide a guided course of study in addition to and in parallel with a field of study in engineering in the area of bioengineering, and to provide formal transcript recognition of the bioengineering option. Bioengineering encompasses all activities at the intersection of engineering and life sciences. Bioengineering encompasses biomedical, biological, bioprocess, bioenvironmental, or biomolecular engineering.

Requirements
The College of Engineering has prepared a list of courses that are currently designated as bioengineering courses (available in room 167 Olin Hall). Courses not on this list may be nominated for inclusion by faculty and students by submission of a request to the chair of the Bioengineering Committee.
Administration
Policy, curriculum, and academic oversight are provided by a faculty Bioengineering Committee made up of representatives of the College of Engineering faculty with bioengineering activities and interests.
A list of Bioengineering courses and Bioengineering faculty consultants is maintained in the Engineering Advising Office and the College of Engineering Undergraduate Programs Office.
Students wishing to complete the bioengineering option will be accepted to the program by:
Changes in the original enrollment form will be submitted in writing with faculty consultant's signature to Undergraduate Programs Office (167 Olin Hall).
Copies of the enrollment forms are sent to the Engineering Registrar's Office where a transcript is generated and sent to the director of the Bioengineering Program.
Verification of completion of the bioengineering option will be completed by the director of the Bioengineering Program.
